The gateway to the Quarry is at the top of a slight incline where I learned to skateboard when it was still " a new craze" (circa 1970).

As a boy I watched crazy Aussie surfers in Newquay Cornwall U.K cut a roller skate in two and nail the two halves to a plank. They rode this down the hill in front of my Aunts house at dusk after the surf had dropped or it was to dark to see yourself drowning.

I watched this and replicated this when home in Shrewsbury. My sister sure did miss her roller skate but hey, needs must....

Once, I remember sliding through a huge dog turd not far from that memorial. Another guy asked me for a go on my board which I gladly encouraged, knowing the more revolutions that skate made under some one else foot, the less chance there was of myself being sprayed with dog faeces.

I was never to let my Red 50mm Kryps be soiled in that way later in life.

Some lightroom work on the sky, noise reduction and thats about it really. The Welsh Bridge: The bridge was designed and built by John Tilley and John Carline (whose father was a mason on the English Bridge), who had built Montford Bridge for Thomas Telford. Four of the arches span 43 feet 4 inches, while the fifth and central arch is 46 feet 2 inches. The bridge is 30 feet wide, and built from Grinshill sandstone. In total it is 266 feet long. It was completed in 1795 at a cost of £8,000. (Wikipedia)

Rumour has it that it is still lawful to kill a Welshman on a Sunday if he/she is within the town walls (has to be with a longbow). I have no idea if that is true but I am sure some Welsh town has the same rule. If they change the nationallity to "asshole" every town want this law, would approve of and obey it daily.

The building is old and the brickwork amazing, built on a steep incline, an engineers nightmare, a beautiful nightmare!
